(058) BARRIÉ FOUNDATION. 2003-2006
The Pedro Barrie de la Maza Foundation is located inside a 1919 building designed by the Vigo-based architect Manuel Gómez Román. The building's interior design tries to solve the functional program by giving a contemporary response in line with a ‘functional flexibility and versatility’ criteria. The ground floor is designed as a multipurpose space that can be transformed using hi-tech theatrical technology. The two multipurpose exhibition floors are equipped with a programmable luminous ceiling. The fourth floor holds a meeting hall equipped with a stage mechanism to stock the seating by raising it over the room. The chairs can be lowered depending on the intended capacity.
